How to Use Maps
Group, ungroup, or regroup maps
To work with maps, you use commands on the Drawing toolbar. The Drawing toolbar appears in the lower left corner of MS PowerPoint. If you don’t see the Drawing toolbar, on the View menu, point to Toolbars and then click Drawing.
Group maps
Select the individual maps you want to group.
On the Drawing toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.), click Draw, and then click Group.
Ungroup maps
Select the group you want to ungroup.
On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, and then click Ungroup.
Regroup maps
Select any one of the maps that was previously grouped.
On the Drawing toolbar click Draw, and then click Regroup.
Q:Why you need to group maps?
You combine the PowerPoint maps so you can work with them as though they were a single object. You can flip, rotate, and resize or scale all maps in a group as a single unit.
You can also change the attributes (attribute: An object or text feature, such as line fill or text color, that you can manipulate by using drawing tools and menu commands.) of all maps in a group at one time — for example, you might change the fill color or add a shadow to all maps in the group. Or, you can select an individual map within a group map and apply an attribute, without ungrouping.
You can also create groups within groups to help you build complex drawings.
You can ungroup a group of objects at any time and then regroup them later.
Q:How do I apply a map to my existing presentation?
Our PPT maps are normal PowerPoint presentations with the map on a slide. Once the map has been downloaded and extracted from the Zip file to your hard drive, it is opened just like any normal PowerPoint file, by double-clicking or using the File > Open command. Map features are ready to edit and customize. Use the mouse pointer to click and select map features, or hold down the Shift to select multiple features at once.
